This year’s San Diego County Fair will highlight breweries from the Competition at the 11th San Diego International Beer Festival on June 16-18, at the Del Mar Arena. Winners were selected from 1,564 entries, which came from 20 countries and 23 states. Tickets to the Festival include admission to the Fair for the day.
Judging was held April 21-23, where gold, silver and bronze awards were bestowed upon 168 brews from around the world at the San Diego International Beer Competition, held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar, California. Best of Show will be announced at the Festival at 12:30 p.m. June 17. Visit here for full results.
Last year, more than 10,000 beer lovers attended the Festival and sampled from hundreds of varieties of ale, cider, porter, stout, mead and more. Hundreds of different beers will be served this year, and more than 50 vendors will feature beer-related items, such as custom growlers and more.

For the true craft beer enthusiast, the VIP Lounge at $110 includes Fair admission and half-hour early admission to the Festival, VIP Lounge seating, five food and beer pairing stations, unlimited grazing for the first two hours of the session and a 6-oz. souvenir glass to taste unlimited samplings of 300+ beers. Designated Driver/VIP Lounge: $65 includes Fair admission, all of the bells and whistles of the regular VIP experience, but without the beer.
Beer Stage Demos: The Educational Beer Stage will feature three seminars (with samples) per session, hosted by breweries, educators and food purveyors.
Special Release Beers: Rare brews will be tapped at various times throughout the festival and poured until the barrel runs dry. Mike Hess Brewing will be on hand to pour Into the Sunset Blood Orange IPA — specially brewed for the 2017 San Diego County Fair.
Expanded VIP Lounge: A larger lounge space will include games, early admission, Mancraft Corner and five feature craft food and beer pairing stations and more.
Into the Sunset Pavilion: play a little with life-size games and enjoy the rustic furniture. Fun contests will take place hourly like: Best Beerd Contest, Best Pretzel Necklace Contest and Best Beer Belly Contest.
